The Importance
of
Educators

Here at The Civics Center, we’re dedicated to helping educators and students work together on non-partisan voter registration drives in their school.

“Student led, adult supported” means voter registration can be a school activity, just like sports or the student newspaper.

STUDENT ROLE:

Auto racing winner

ORGANIZE, REGISTER, PROMOTE

Students are best positioned to get their peers excited about voting and should be the ones talking to their peers about why voting is important, presenting at assemblies and in classrooms, and asking peers to register.

ADULT ROLE:

Racing team preparing the car

ACT AS A BRIDGE BETWEEN
SCHOOL & PARENTS

Teachers support students by helping them build confidence and skills in public speaking, building buy-in from the administration and community, and helping to support students in making logistical decisions about the best strategy to use.
