The Civics Center offers a paid training program for educators to embed youth voter education and registration into high school curriculums. The program includes four virtual sessions and supported implementation throughout the school year.

Teach your students to:

  • Participate in collaborative action-planning to develop the strategy, organize the team, and create the resources they need to register their peers while also developing important college and career skills.

  • Be able to articulate how the issues that matter most to them are impacted by voting.

Program Topics:

Week 1 Introduction to The Civics Center + Youth Voter Trends
Week 2 Technical Aspects of Voter Registration + Introduction to Voter Registration Curriculum
Week 3 Authentically Embedding Voter Registration Events into Existing Courses + Preparing Students to Run Effective Drives
Week 4 Fostering a Classroom Environment that Supports High-level, Civic Learning

Eligibility Requirements:

To ensure the successful implementation of the program and maximize its impact, participating educators must:

  • Currently teach in the targeted region

  • Be able to attend all virtual events

  • Commit to approximately 10 hours of training and student support

  • Be willing to recruit and support 3-5 students interested in leading a voter registration drive

  • Participate in a post-drive reporting and debrief session to share registration data, drive successes and challenges

Educators are eligible to receive a $500 stipend for successful program completion.
