Registration rates for 18-year-olds in greater Philadelphia are rising quickly

Rate Remains below 30% Region-wide

In the run-up to the November 8 midterm elections, registration rates for 18-year-olds in the greater Philadelphia area are rising quickly. 

The overall rate, however, remains below 30%.  This compares to 47.5% of 18-year-olds registered to vote in 2020 (according to the U.S. Census).

Young people in PA have just one week from today in which to register to vote. As of October 10, comparing the registration rates for 18-year-olds in the greater Philadelphia region:

  • Montgomery County is leading.  

  • Chester, Bucks, and Delaware Counties are neck and neck.  

  • Philadelphia is approaching 25%.  

  • Not a single county in the region has a voter registration rate for 18-year-olds at or above 40%.
