Nevada: on the way

Nevada is a bit behind California when it comes to encouraging high school students to register or pre-register to vote, but it’s still better than a lot of states.  The State allows pre-registration at 17 (not 16) and has online voter registration. Nevada recognizes an official voter education week in late September. There is a measure on the ballot this November to provide for automatic voter registration at the DMV.

Despite these measures, total turnout in the 2018 primary election was less than 23%.

You can spread the word to help Nevada increase participation.  Organize a voter registration drive in your school, start a club, and encourage your school to reach out to the community with website “buttons” and email reminders to register to vote.
