5-5=Vote!
Young adults recently gave NPR 5 reasons why they did not vote in the 2016 general election and do not plan to vote in the 2018 midterm election. We take on the Big 5 in this new blog series, “5-5=Vote!”
Reason #1: I’m Too Busy. A 26-year-old working mother told NPR she’s too busy to vote. We know work, school, and family commitments can make it difficult to vote. 22 states now offer vote-by-mail in some instances, and in California the state will even buy your stamp starting in 2019. Most states also offer early voting periods that allow citizens to vote before Election Day. Are you going to be busy Tuesday, November 6? No problem! Vote by mail or vote early! Find out whether your state offers early voting or voting by mail at usa.gov.
This post is the first of a 5-part series this week in which we’re taking on the 5 reasons reported by NPR day-by-day.
